FOCUS NEEDS A TARGET
Attention scatters when several tasks carry the same emotional urgency. The first job is not concentrating harder. It is choosing what deserves concentration now.
DEFINE A VISIBLE FINISH LINE
Replace broad goals with a result you can see. Instead of work on report, choose draft the opening paragraph and three headings. Set a 20-minute window and place unrelated tasks on a capture list.
CLOSE THE LOOP
At the end of the focus window, write the next physical action before taking a break. This reduces the effort required to restart and lets your mind release the task temporarily.
