WHY THE ALARM FEELS SO LOUD

Anxiety is a protection system, not a personal failure. When it activates, your body prioritizes speed over nuance. Trying to argue with every thought can add more pressure. Begin by giving your nervous system clear evidence that this moment is survivable.

TRY THE 5-4-3 RESET

Place both feet on the floor. Name five things you can see, four sensations you can feel, three sounds you can hear, two scents you notice, and one slow breath you can follow from beginning to end. Let each answer be ordinary. The goal is orientation, not perfect calm.

AFTER THE WAVE

Choose one next action that takes less than two minutes: drink water, open a window, or send a simple message to someone safe. Small completed actions restore a sense of agency.

This guide offers general wellbeing education and does not replace care from a qualified mental health professional. Move at your own pace and stop any exercise that feels unsafe.
