REPAIR IS A SEPARATE CONVERSATION

Trying to solve the original issue while both people are activated often restarts the conflict. Begin with repair: acknowledge impact, establish safety, and agree on what the next conversation is for.

USE OBSERVATION, IMPACT, REQUEST

Describe one observable moment without assigning motive. Name its impact on you, then make one concrete request. Keep the request about behavior, not personality.

LISTEN FOR THE VALID PART

Validation is not agreement. It is identifying the part of another person experience that makes sense from where they stand. This lowers defensiveness and makes problem-solving more possible.

This guide offers general wellbeing education and does not replace care from a qualified mental health professional. Move at your own pace and stop any exercise that feels unsafe.
